I've always had a love for natural things, in fact the smell of wood excites me, dirt feels good between my fingers. Call it weird if ya want to but it's a real thing. I fell in love with essential oils when my daughter was born (some 18 years ago). I gravitated towards the natural ways to heal and comfort me through my journey of motherhood and just life in general. If I had a migraine I researched the best oil combinations for that, if she had a tummy ache, I found out how to alleviate it.
I could never tolerate the harsh smell of chemicals so I started making my own cleaners with essential oils, that turned into mixing creams and coming up with my own blends to help heal whatever dis-ease that I had. People always asked me for my remedies and I would gladly share them.
WHEN I REALLY KNEW IT WAS A THING!!!
It wasn't until 2018 when my brother had a heart attack and stroke due to blood clots in his lungs, leaving him in a vegetative state and no activity in any of his brain lobes that I decided I was going to use everything that I knew about essential oils and herbs to nurse him back to health. The doctors said that his quality of life would not be optimal and they encouraged us to pull the plug. During his 4 month hospital stay I had a diffuser going non stop in his room with oils that aided in mental function. I rubbed his feet with oils and set the tone for an oasis of healing. We took him home with a tracheotomy and a feeding tube. For almost 2 years I found out what oil blends and herbal remedies worked that healed his stage 4 wound and kept him infection free until he was ready to transition. People were amazed at how his skin glowed and how lively he was even though he was confined to the bed. I thought to myself, there may be people that need access not just to the products that I use but the information I possess. Because of this passion to heal I decided to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Natural Medicine. I mean how transformative would this type of Emotional Nursing as I called it be in the medical field. Poof! Muhimu Oils was born. We had our Grand Opening in March of 2022.
The name Muhimu came from a good friend of mine who passed in 2021. With every life I help change I honor her memory. Muhimu means "Essential" in Swahili. These oils, sprays, creams and blends are essential to optimal living for me.
So I share this little love language with you. May the products you purchase heal your dis-ease and put you in a place of comfort and wellness, as wellness is not just the absence of illness but the presence of health.
